Turning Vision into Reality

Wedge Preserve Park Groundbreaking - June 23, 2025

Under a breezy early evening sky, the City came together on June 23, to celebrate the launch of a historic landmark in the making. Wedge Preserve Park, situated at the corner of Hillsboro Boulevard and Nob Hill Road - will offer 36 acres of unprogrammed recreational opportunities, from a mini play village, to lazy strolls, to splash pads, a ninja course, and much more.

"Wedge Preserve Park reflects the values that define Parkland: access to play, open space for gatherings, and that unmistakable small-town charm that makes our city feel like home," said Mayor Rich Walker, who officiated the groundbreaking ceremony. "Whether it’s a friendly pickleball match, a child’s first hit on the ball field, or neighbors simply walking the trails together, this is a place where lifelong memories will be made."

Mayor Walker lauded the vision and leadership of the current and former City of Parkland City Commission, State Rep. Christine Hunschofsky, Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine, and other community leaders, including Broward County School Board Member Lori Alhadeff. The groundbreaking was also attended by City staff, the architecture team, CPH Inc., and Kaufman Lynn Construction.

The future home of Wedge Preserve Park is located at the NE corner of W. Hillsboro Blvd. and Nob Hill Rd. Residents will soon be able to enjoy a fun, outdoor recreation area at Wedge Preserve Park thanks to partial funding from Florida Communities Trust. Some proposed amenities include:
