Youth Fishing Derby
Saturday | June 13, July 11, and August 8
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Pine Trails Park Fishing Pier
This free community event is open to Parkland residents ages 3–12 and will be held at the Pine Trails Park Fishing Pier.
Participants will compete in a fun, family-friendly fishing competition with awards for largest catch and most fish caught. Children are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian.
Fisher friends must bring their own fishing pole and bait.
Grab a friend, bring a parent, and come enjoy a great day of fishing and outdoor fun.

Fishing Derby Rules
Cast your line from the pier or shoreline only
Please fish from designated areas only.
No wading in the water
We know it’s tempting, but please keep feet on dry land to stay safe and dry.
Be aware of local wildlife
Keep your eyes open and respect our natural surroundings.
Bring your gear and be ready
Participants must bring their own fishing pole, line, bait, and hooks.
Live bait is allowed. Don't forget the sunscreen and water.
Cast carefully
We’ll be fishing close together, so please do not use multi-hooked lures.
Only fishing poles allowed
No nets, traps, or other equipment.
