Parkland Educational Initiatives
Mayor for a Month
The City of Parkland is a community that values youth and promotes the positive impact they have in our city. This program is open to any Parkland resident regardless of enrollment in public, private or charter school or home schooled. This program is available for students in grades 6-12 interested in government. The Student Mayor program will allow students to shadow the City of Parkland Mayor at Commission Meetings, events and other presentations. Learn more about the Student Mayor program by visiting the Mayor for a Month page.
Youth Ambassador Program
The goal of the Parkland Youth Ambassador Program is to foster open and positive communication between City government and the youth of our community. Students serve as liaisons and discuss youth-related issues that impact the community and its schools while learning and participating in their local municipal government. Students will regularly attend City Commission meetings, learn about various City departments, volunteer at City events, and assist with service projects to benefit other organizations. View information on the Youth Ambassador Program here.
Scholarship Opportunity
An annual scholarship for post-secondary City of Parkland students is made possible through The City of Parkland and the Parkland Community Advisory Board. The scholarship is in recognition of outstanding community or civic service. View information on the City of Parkland Scholarship Program here.
