Other Agency Approvals
It depends, projects such as Single Family Residences, free-standing out-buildings, commercial buildings, and certain other projects are subject to review by the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department, Development and Environmental Review (DER). They will provide you with a Broward County Transportation Concurrency Satisfaction Certificate and a Broward County Environmental Review Approval Certificate which must be submitted to us with your permit. The entire DER process is online. All plan review must be submitted electronically via the ePermits website. In the Pinetree Estates, Ranches, and Country Acres Subdivisions, permitting for a Private (Potable) Water System and Septic Tank & Drainfield System is under the jurisdiction of the Health Department. A copy of the well and septic tank permits and the Health Department stamps on the plans are required prior to submittal to the Building Division for permit.Other Agency Approvals

Residential and non-residential projects of one acre or more may require a surface-water management permit. Visit the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Program website for information on requirements for permitting. Proof of your compliance will be required prior to the issuance of a building permit for your project.
