The City of Parkland will be hosting a Community Commemoration on Friday, February 14, 2020 to honor the MSD Community. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Trails Park (10559 Trails End, Parkland). The City of Parkland will observe this as a Day of Service and Love.

Support services will be available at 1:00 p.m. The day will include a service project partnering with Food For The Poor in a special community food packing event which will run in two sessions. Session one is from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and session two is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To volunteer as part of the service project, sign up at Food for the Poor. Therapy dogs and counselors will be onsite throughout the day.

The City will also host a brief commemoration ceremony for the community at 5:00 p.m. This ceremony is intended to last approximately 30 minutes. The park will be open both before and after the ceremony.

The Big Picture: Resilience is a public art installation that will be on display at Pine Trails Park starting February 14th. This is a multi-faceted photo-documentary project developed by artist Carl Juste and collaborators for the Power of Art as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Public Art Challenge.
