Restarting Parkland

The City of Parkland (City) is continuing to reopen in as safe and prudent of a manner as possible. It is imperative all residents continue to take precautions to protect themselves and others. This means use of properly worn facial coverings and honoring physical. We must continue to take measures to avoid contracting or spreading the Coronavirus. Failure to do so could result in reverting back to closures and restrictions.

City Hall

  • Open regular operating hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Monday-Friday
  • No one will be permitted entry without a properly worn facial covering
  • Everyone must strictly adhere to physical distancing while in City Hall at all times
  • Visitors must ring buzzer for entry

The Parkland Library

Beginning Wednesday, October 14, 2020, the Parkland Library will partially re-open for book browsing only.  Computers, printing services, tutoring, meeting rooms, and in-person programming will NOT be available during this partial re-opening.   

Safety guidelines will be in place including, but not limited to, physical distancing, properly worn facial coverings, and no more than 50 percent capacity in the library at any time.

Book browsing hours will be Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Curbside pick-up will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

City Parks

  • Equestrian Center, Doris Davis Foreman Wilderness Preserve, Covered Bridge Park, and Six Acre Wood Park are open from 8:00 a.m. – Sunset, Monday through Sunday
  • Adherence to physical distancing guidelines is required at all times for all activities in all parks
  • Facial coverings are encouraged when and where practical
  • Barkland dog park is open from 8:00 a.m. - Sunset, Monday through Sunday (opens at noon on Wednesdays for routine maintenance)

Pine Trails Park

  • Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 
  • Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center (P-REC) is open from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday. The P-REC is closed on Sunday
  • Batting cages (maximum of two people per cage) and concession stands are open
  • Basketball courts are open and restricted to 10 people or less.
  • Pavilions are available for reservations of groups of 10 or less. To make reservations contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954.757.4105.
  • Playgrounds and outdoor fitness stations are open effective Friday, October 2nd

Terramar Park

  • Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
  • Singles and doubles play is permitted for tennis and pickleball
  • Batting cages (maximum of two people per cage) and concession stands are open
  • Basketball courts are open and are restricted to 10 people or less.
  • Pavilions are available for reservations of groups of 10 or less. To make reservations contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954.757.4105.
  • Playgrounds are open effective Friday, October 2nd

Liberty Park

  • Hours are 8:00 a.m. – Sunset, Monday through Sunday
  • Park, including playground and splash pad, are open effective Friday, October 2nd

Parkland Tennis Center at Quigley Park

  • Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
  • Singles and doubles play permitted
  • Properly worn facial covering is required in the building

Fields

  • No groups of more than 10 shall congregate with the exception of the City of Parkland recognized sports leagues
  • To reserve a field for groups of 10 or less, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954.757.1910
  • When there is not a permit:
    • Fields can be used only of groups of ten (10) or less
    • No equipment permitted

Events

Special event permits can resume for outdoor events only as long as the space operates at 50% capacity, not to exceed 100 people. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 954.757.4107.

Building Department at City Hall

The City of Parkland Building Department is open daily from 8:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. by appointment only. Plans can be dropped off for review in the drop box in front of City Hall and you will be notified when they are ready for pick-up. In-person business will still be honored, but only for business that cannot be transacted via the drop box and by appointment only.
