Hurricane Dorian delayed the start of the project that will result in the closure of the swale and sidewalk on the west side of Parkside Drive from Loxahatchee Road to just south of Darby Lane. Preparation for this project will begin as early as September 6, 2019, with closures starting as early as September 9, 2019. Through the duration of this project, it is imperative everyone exercise caution by crossing only at designated crosswalks and by obeying the direction of deputies and crossing guards.

The closure of the sidewalk and swale along the west side of Parkside Drive will create an inconvenience for those who must travel that area—and in particular for drop-off and pick-up of children at Riverglades Elementary School. The City of Parkland has offered limited parking at the Parkland Tennis Center at Quigley Park which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Though this parking is limited, the City wanted to provide what it has available to offer some relief. Through the duration of this project, we ask for your patience due to the inconvenience, that you consider carpooling, and you take an alternate route if you do not need to be on Parkside Drive. Weather-permitting, this project will be complete in approximately four to five weeks.
