Commissioner Grace Solomon (District 2)

Grace Solomon began her first term as Parkland City Commissioner in November 2016.

Grace received a Juris Doctorate in 1999 from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and is a 1996 graduate of the University of Hartford. Upon gaining admission to the Florida Bar in 1999, her career as an attorney has taken her from court room litigation, insurance defense, and appellate law all the way to real estate law and family law where she has devoted nearly a decade to fighting for children's rights during the most challenging of circumstances. In 2016 she became certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator and is the owner of Parkland Mediation, a firm dedicated to the peaceful resolution of family matters.

In May of 2016 Grace was appointed by Commissioner Stacy Kagan to the City of Parkland's Education Advisory Board where she worked on many of the key issues resulting from the City's increasing population. In November of 2016, Grace was appointed by the Commission to serve on the Parkland Police Pension Board. In her role as a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Vice President, she has remained close to the issues that impact our City's educators, school administrators, and students.

Grace was born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut and moved to South Florida in 1996.  In 2009, she moved to Parkland with her husband, Dan, their son, Nicholas (who was two-and-a-half at the time) and their dog, Rambo.
