Parkland Garden Club

Description: This group is open to all gardeners and would-be gardeners, and even those who just want advice on turning their brown thumbs green. They are members of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and their goal is to educate members and the community about gardening, floral design, conservation and civic beautification, and have some fun and make new friends along the way. The group is kicking off its third full year in September, and is deeply involved in helping the city of Parkland get certified as a National Wildlife Federation Community Wildlife Habitat. Members of the club also get involved in community projects for events like Arbor Day and Earth Day. During monthly meetings they have enjoyed informative hands-on programs presented by well-known members of the local gardening community on such subjects as bromeliads, butterfly gardening, roses and orchids.
