Description: NoneFriends of Music, Inc. is proud to present an exciting selection of concerts for music lovers of all ages. Organized in 2003, this group is dedicated to filling the void left by the departure of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. Friends of Music, Inc. was honored by the City of Coral Springs for its contribution to the cultural arts and to education. The Friends has presented both pops and chamber concerts attended by more than 5,000 people and enabled nearly 600 local students to learn from and to perform alongside professional musicians. Friends of Music, Inc. has donated almost $ 50,000 to local school music programs.
Friends of Music is a non profit organization bringing music to the Community and giving money to the local public schools for music education. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Friends at the number listed below..

- SAT October 25th: Friends of Music - Edan String Quartet appearing at 7:30 PM at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 1400 Riverside Drive, Coral Springs. $25 Adults, $10 for teachers with ID, and $5 for students. Tickets at the door or may be purchased in advance. FOM members, guests and community members can look forward to an exciting season of wonderful music this year. The program will feature the Edan string quartet, presenting classical music with a Latin flavor. Members of the group hail from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Brazil. They met as graduate students at the Harid Conservatory, and perform internationally. This evening will also feature our traditional pre-concert dinner. Classical music with a Latin Flavor. - SUN February 22nd: Pianist Michael Baron and saxophonist James Houlik will present a concert at the Coral Springs Charter School Auditorium. Both artists have had major performing careers, with concerts in Carnegie Hall and other places of note. They will also present a master class for students in the afternoon before the concert. We plan to work with the Broward County Music Teachers again this year to encourage music students to attend with their teachers.
- TUE April 28th: The spring side-by-side concert will feature the ensemble “Fireworks” at Coral Springs Center for the Arts. This diverse group of eight musicians includes piano, guitar, flute, saxophone, violin, cello, bass and percussion. Their “Cartoon Concert” will bring the classical pieces we learned as children from Bugs Bunny and the Roadrunner. Expect to be surprised and enchanted with this delightful program, featuring local band and orchestra students onstage for the grand finale.
