The
Public Works Department!

The Public Works
Department is instrumental in constructing, maintaining, repairing and
managing public property and infrastructure. The Department consists
of five (5) Divisions with a plethora of responsibilities including,
but not limited to, streets, canals, sidewalks, drainage, parks, facilities,
landscaping, fleet, capital projects, and engineering. Additionally,
the Department performs a variety of administrative functions including,
grant preparation and administration, contract and project management,
plan review, and right-of-way and engineering permitting. The Public
Works Department assists and facilitates the Utility
Advisory Board as may be necessary from time to time.
With a staff of
thirty three (33) dedicated employees and a variety of qualified contractors,
the Public Works Department strives to provide residents quality
services in the most professional, cost effective and efficient manner
possible. Each member of the Public Works Department is an integral
part of our team and takes pride in the high level of diverse services
we provide to each and every resident. Public Works staff maintains
diverse mechanical/technical skills, as well as, professional and educational
degrees, certificates, and licenses necessary to perform a wide variety
of technical, professional and highly skilled public services functions.

Administrative
Division
The division consists of the Public Works Director, Operations Manager,
and Administrative Assistant. This division is responsible for the short
and long term planning and managing of the Public Works Department.
Additional responsibilities include day-to-day directional oversight of
departmental staff and resources, customer service, emergency management,
contract management, budgeting, right-of-way permitting, and coordination
of engineering permitting, inspections and development review.
Capital
Projects Division
This division is responsible for the management of all City funded capital
projects and engineering studies including, but not limited to, project
planning, cost estimating, budgeting, coordination of architectural and
engineering design, plan review, permitting, specification writing, bid
preparation, construction management and grant administration. [Engineering

Facilities
Maintenance Division
This division is responsible for all repairs to city owned facilities
including performing plumbing repairs, a/c unit maintenance, painting
and electrical repairs. This division is responsible for the preservation
of the city’s physical building assets, maintaining a proper work
environment for city employees; maintains safe and pleasant facilities
for the general public.
Parks and
Grounds Maintenance Division
This division is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all City
owned park facilities and structures including, but not limited to, ballfields,
dugouts, playground equipment, landscaping, tennis and basketball courts,
pavilions, irrigation systems, and common areas.
Streets and
Stormwater Division
This division is responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair
of all City owned streets and drainage facilities including, but not limited
to, roadways, curbing, sidewalks, swales, catch basins, and canal/ditch
maintenance. Additionally, the Streets and Stormwater Division coordinates
the maintenance of landscaping within the public rights-of-way.
