The Recruitment Process

Open positions are posted on this website, under Employment Opportunities.
We advertise in the local newspapers under Government on Sunday, and post all open positions in City Hall. If there is a Closing Date, applications must be postmarked by the closing date. All applications received are initially reviewed by the Human Resource Department to determine eligibility. They are then passed to the respective department to make determination on the applicants to be scheduled for interview. The City utilizes a structured panel interview process. If it is determined to be appropriate for the position, other testing will also be included in the process. Upon the completion of the interview process, the hiring manager will make a recommendation to Human Resources. A conditional Offer of Employment will be made, contingent upon the results of the background investigation and medical and drug screen.

According to Florida Statute, Chapter 119, job applications and resumes are public record and must be made available for public inspection on request and cannot be kept confidential.
