Health Insurance: The City provides to the employee at no cost, single coverage which includes the following:

  • AETNA Medical Open Access HMO
  • Guardian Dental Plan
  • Life Insurance and Long Term Disability Insurance through Jefferson Pilot

These are provided at NO COST to the employee, and the coverage is effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Options: There is an option to select AETNA Medical POS Health Plan instead of the HMO. However there will be a cost associated with this selection depending on the employee status. Dependent coverage is also available for spouse and/or children at a reduced rate depending on employee status.

Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Holidays

Vacation:

  • 0 to 1 Year of employment accrue 6 hours per month
  • 1 to 4 Years of employment accrue 8 hours per month

Sick Days: Accrued at the rate of 8 hours per month.

Personal Days: Personal day given after 31 days of employment. (1) Additional personal day given on the 1st of every new year.

Tuition Reimbursement: Upon completion of six month of employment, employees are eligible to participate in this program. Reimbursement will be based upon the Florida State tuition costs. A maximum of 6 courses per year allowed. Employee is reimbursed at 75% of cost for books and tuition, upon successful completion.

ICMA 401a Plan: The City contributes 10% of the employee’s salary to the ICMA 401a Money Purchase Plan after 6 Months of full time employment. This is not a deduction from salary, and the employee does not contribute to the plan.

ICMA 457 Plan: All employees can contribute to the 457 Plan immediately.
