Park Ranger Program

City of Parkland Park RangersThe Park Ranger Program was established in February 2002 and the Park rangers serve as advisors to the Parks and Recreation Department. The Program consists of one FT Chief Ranger and one PT Ranger. The Park Rangers are responsible for patrolling all of the City of Parkland’s Parks and Recreation areas.

The Park Ranger Program is a uniformed enforcement division that is responsible for enforcing park rules and regulations that fall under the City of Parkland Ordinances. They work very closely with the Public Safety Department and with other City Departments. They monitor all permits for park facilities use and other safety issues related to the Parks. The Park Rangers also monitor all vendors on Park’s property. In addition, they provide security and traffic control at all special events that occur in the Parks. The Park Rangers also assist in ensuring that all sport league programs function safely. In addition, they supervise and put into effect the community service programs for the local Courts and other various agencies. The Park Rangers received training in First-Aid/CPR and defensive driving.

City of Parkland Park RangersThe Park Rangers are considered “Ambassadors of the Park” and provide Park Patrons with information regarding park activities, park accommodations, and general park regulation information. The Park Rangers patrol all of the City of Parkland Parks during various hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays. They ensure the safety of the Park Patrons and protect the natural resources of the unique ecosystem of our Parklands.

The Park Rangers can be contacted at (954) 575-1007 during business hours. The Parks and Recreation Department also has a cellular phone that is carried by the Chief Park Ranger while on duty so residents and park users have the ability to reach staff personnel immediately when questions or concerns regarding recreation or other park related issues need to be answered. You can also reach them via email at parklandcity@bellsouth.net.

During weekdays from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on weekends from 7:00 AM till 10:00 PM please call their cell at (954) 913-0496 for help. The Park Ranger responding to your call will have the capabilities of contacting any other department in the City if needed.
