For Mature Adults 62+
This programming
is Free of Charge and only for Parkland Residents that are ages 62 and
older. Participants go on various field trips once per month, and may
attend alecture/ activity class that correlates to the field trip. The
Field Trip portion and the class portion takes place on different days
of the month, you may attend one or both programs. Both programs are limited
to 50 participants. All trips require walking. This is an opportunity
to become more physical, while socializing with other Parkland residents
in a healthy and fun environment. Future programs include Festivals, Museums,
Parks, Fishing, etc.
To register for the
Senior Program or Senior Class you must provide proof of residency/ age
in the form of a driver’s license or photo ID, and complete a Senior
Program Application. If all requirements are not completed we cannot register

- Palm Beach International Polo Club– February 21, 2010
Time: 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Cost: This trip is free of charge to Parkland residents 62 and older.
Details: Participants on this trip will enjoy a fun afternoon watching a professional polo match. Participants will have a rare opportunity to interview one of the players and tour the facility.

- Fire Extinguisher Training Class – March 9, 2010
Time: 10:00AM to 11:30 AM at Parkland City Hall
Cost: This class is free of charge to Parkland residents 62 and older.
Details: Participants in this class will be taught how to use a fire extinguisher. Participants will be given professional instruction by the Coral Springs Fire Department. Participants will have the opportunity to put out an actual fire.

- Biscayne National Park– March 12, 2010
Time: 8:30 AM to 6:00PM
Cost: This trip is free of charge to Parkland residents 62 and older.
Details: Participants on this trip will get a tour of Biscayne National Park. Participants will enjoy a ride on a Catamaran Boat as they tour Boca Cheetah Island.

- Wooden Clock Craft Class – April 8, 2010
Time: 10:00AM to 11:30 AM at Parkland City Hall
Cost: This class is free of charge to Parkland residents 62 and older.
Details: Participants in this class will have an opportunity to decorate their own wooden clocks. Participants will use acrylic paint and paint brushes.
Registration Status: Registration starts Monday, February 22, 2010.
- Florida Marlins Game– April 11, 2010
Time: 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Cost: This trip is free of charge to Parkland residents 62 and older.
Details: Participants on this trip will enjoy a fun afternoon with the Florida Marlins. Participants will watch the Marlins take on the Dodgers.
