Broward Building Code Services Division
The Community Code Compliance Division is responsible for conformance to the Florida Building Code for all new construction in the unincorporated areas of Broward County and in those municipalities that have an Interlocal Agreement for services with Broward County. If your building project is in the City of Parkland, please contact the City Building Department instead for assistance.

Federal Citizen Information Center
This organization publishes the quarterly Consumer Information Catalog and their website has consumer focus and consumer action sections which review the latest news topics that are relevant to consumer concerns. Other consumer topics include cars, computers, food and health.
 
Federal Trade Commission
The FTC posts publications with advice on avoiding scams and rip-offs, as well as tips on other consumer topics. Includes information automobiles, credit, diet, health and fitness, eCommerce, energy and the environment, franchises, identity theft, home maintenance, investments, privacy, products and services, telemarketing, tobacco and travel.

FirstGov
FirstGov for Consumers is a "one-stop" link to a broad range of federal information resources available online. It is designed so that you can locate information by category. Each category has subcategories to direct you to areas within individual federal web sites containing related information.

Florida Attorney General's Office
The Florida Attorney General's Office is the key contact for filing complaints against contractors or businesses in our state. This site has a downloadable Consumer Complaint Form and a list of current businesses that are under investigation in Florida.

Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is a $1.5 billion agency regulating one million professionals and businesses across some 200 licensee categories. The department licenses 1 in 16 Floridians, ranging from electricians to real estate agents, from cosmetologists to professional boxers. Other department-regulated areas include hotels, restaurants, alcohol and tobacco retailers, condominiums and mobile home parks. Use this site to file a complaint, check on whether a company is licensed and locate regulations governing businesses.

Florida Division of Consumer Services
The Division of Consumer Services functions to assist consumers with information, protection and complaints in the industries they regulate. They also function as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's agent in Florida regarding product recalls, inspections and investigations. This site is also useful for locating information on Identity Theft. Ask insurance questions online, browse the online consumer library, get consumer news updates, find information on fraud, regulation risk management and securities. Online databases include claims in which insurers made payments to claimants to satisfy a judgments or reach settlements and an index of companies doing business in the state of Florida.
