New Book of Knowledge

An online encyclopedia for elementary students to third grade! Easy to search and easy to use, The New Book of Knowledge online is the cool site with serious information for young students who are learning to use online resources for research. It contains lesson plans, maps, fact sheets and quizzes, as well as stories, poems, and articles.

New Book of Knowledge Screen ShotThe World History Time Line is extremely useful for young students. The illustrated time line covers a sampling of notable people and events of the past 40,000 years. They are divided into nine sections: (1) Developing Civilizations (40,000-500 B.C.); (2) The Classical Age (500 B.C.-A.D. 500); (3) The Middle Ages (500-1500); (4) Exploration and Discovery (The 1500's); (5) Trade and Colonization (The 1600's); (6) Industry and Revolution (The 1700's); (7) Empires and Inventions (The 1800's); (8) The World at War (1900-1949); and (9) The Modern Age (1950- ).

Projects and Experiments is also a useful learning tool for students. Projects range from arts and crafts to science experiments.

Homework Help teaches students how to research, how to study, and how to write.
