America The Beautiful is an easy to use database for elementary and middle school students who are doing social studies homework, history reports or looking for current national news. It contains articles all 50 states, US Presidents, Native Americans, US Cities, Biographies of Famous Americans, Games and Maps. It offers over 1,400 colorful, easy-to-read, highly interactive articles and indexes over 2,300 complete with summaries. Games, quizzes, picture puzzles, and brainteasers challenge students to learn more about America.

Each state article includes Fast Facts, History and Geography, Economy and Culture, Government
Cities, Spotlights and Profiles, State Timelines and lesson plans for instructors. The database also provides detailed biographical information about all of the U.S. Presidents and famous explorers, information about Native American Tribes, profiles of major American cities and famous places and highlights our nations natural wonders. The Almanac makes each state's facts and figures easy to find.

One of the useful tools for learning American History are the timelines which compare state events with national events on topics such as Science and Technology, Arts and Entertainment, The Written Word, and World History. There are also over 400 full-color, interactive, easy-to-print maps. Maps include topography, population, historical events and more.

This is an excellent resource for teachers and at home instructors.
