NEW - Ask a Librarian - Live Chat Service

Ask a Librarian is a free online information service provided by Florida libraries. Library staff from public, academic, school, and special libraries throughout Florida answer your questions in real-time. This service is staffed by librarians from 90(+) participating libraries throughout the state during the hours of:

• Sunday -- Thursday, 10:00 AM to Midnight
• Friday -- Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

When you are logged onto this service you will be able to chat with a librarian from one of the participating libraries. You will be able to view a librarian's search screen in real-time as they attempt to locate an answer for you using our Library's electronic resources. At end the of your chat session, you can download a transcript of the chat session which contains the text of your conversation and hyperlinks to the sites and databases that a librarian visited while you were being assisted. You can use this transcript to duplicate our research findings.

IMPORTANT: This service is compatible with Windows PCs only. Mac users can not use this service! Pop-up Blockers such as the Internet Explorer Toolbar or Google Toolbar may interfere with this service, so they will need to be disabled before you log in. You should only use this service with the Internet Explorer web browser.
