Children’s Books & Materials
“Read me a story!” These are the most enchanting words a child can say, for books open up the world. Help the library put additional books and materials in the hands of children and provide access to the information they need to succeed as adults.
The Children’s Reading Room includes computer terminals, educational software and an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction materials, but more is needed. The Story Room is a comfortable setting with a well equipped area for arts and crafts. Help fund additional books and resources for our children.
Giving Tree
Support the library by purchasing an inscribed Gold, Silver or Bronze leaf on the Giving Tree for a donation of $1,000, $5,00 or $250. Leaves will be inscribed and added to the Giving Tree which will be displayed in a prominent location.
Community Room
The library houses a community room that accommodates 54 people and is accessible outside of normal operating hours. Your donation will support the purchase of multimedia and other equipment for the community room. By giving, you play a vital role in supporting the library’s goal to become a center for lifelong learning and a focal point of the community.
Story Garden
The patio setting includes benches encircling a large tree where you can sit, read, converse, meditate or simply take a leisurely stroll.
Pave the Way to Reading
Pave the path to the Story Garden by purchasing engraved brick pavers. (Pavers can be inscribed with as many as three lines). Adding brick pavers to the Story Garden will beautify the grounds of the Parkland Library for the enjoyment of the Parkland residents.
Opportunities are available to dedicate a Story Garden bench. A dedication plaque will be inscribed to recognize your gift of $5,000. Benches can be dedicated in honor of or in recognition of an individual business or an occasion. They can also be dedicated to the memory of someone special or in remembrance of a special event. You contribution becomes a visible part of Parkland history.
