New: Keyboard Typing Class

Keyboard Typing A hands-on class for individuals who want to learn to use the computer keyboard to type with speed, accuracy, and confidence. Learn and practice hand and finger position, as well as finger to keystroke assignments. This two part class will be conducted for one hour on consecutive days. Open to ages 9 and up.

Class Offerings
All classes provide hands-on training designed for beginner or intermediate skill levels. Advanced registration is required. Classes are open to adults and young adults in sixth grade or above. View descriptions of the class offerings.
- Basic Series includes Computers for Beginners, Email, Internet and more.
- Microsoft Office includes Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Special Focus includes eBay, Social Networking and more.
Class Schedule
Sign up for one class or an entire series. Each series is generally held over a three week period every other month.
Registration
- To register for a class email Jan Johnson, Program Coordinator.
- Registrants can also call (954) 757-4200 or register in person at the Parkland Library.
- Computer class registrants are asked to pay a $5 deposit, cash or check. When the registrant attends the class, the deposit is returned to them. Classes remain free of charge; however, if the registrant is a no-show, their deposit is forfeited.
- Email and phone registrants can pay their deposit up to 24 hours before the class. If the deposit is not paid within that time period, the registration will be cancelled.
- Cancellations with full refund are accepted up to 24 hours before the class. Class sizes are limited and this provides time to notify someone on the waiting list.
- Those registering for multiple classes can roll over their deposit. After attending the first class, the deposit will be rolled over to the next class. If the registrant is a no-show, the deposit is forfeited and future registrations are cancelled.
