Summer Reading Kick Off Show:
Dig into Adventures with Geo Jane!
Tuesday, June 11th 3:30pm
Geo Jane takes children on a geological adventure full of stories, magic, comedy and audience participation. So lace up your boots and get ready to join Geo Jane as she takes you around the world! Starting June 11th, children ages 2 through 5th grade can register for the Parkland Library’s “Dig into Reading” Summer Reading Club. Sponsored by Parkland Friends of the Library. Parkland Library card required to register.

Tales to Tails
Thursday, May 23rd 4:15pm
Come to the Parkland Library and read to Leyna or Daisy, therapy dogs from Progressive Paws. This program is developed to encourage independent reading and increase reading fluency. Each child can read for about 5 minutes. This program is for children 5 to12 years old. Register online

Reader’s Ring Book Group
Tuesday, May 28th 6:30pm
Join Miss Michele for a book chat. The book we are reading is The Prairie Thief by Melissa Wiley. Read the book before the book club meets. We will talk about the book, eat a snack and make a craft. Reserve your copy at the library today! (For grades 3 to 6)Register online

Summer Reading Club Begins (age 2 through 5th grade)
Tuesday, June 11 thru August 12
Every child age 2 years through 5th grade will receive a “goodie bag” for registering for the library’s “Dig into Reading!” Summer Reading Club. The children keep a reading log of books they have read to earn prizes all summer. The more books you read the more prizes you get! Sponsored by the Parkland Friends of the Library. You must be a Parkland Library card holder to participate.

Father’s Day Storytime (ages 2 and up)
Wednesday, June 12th 6:30pm
Bring your dad, grandpa, or uncle for stories, songs and a special craft just for him! Parkland Library card required to register. Register online

Geocache Challenge! How to Class ( Fun for the Whole Family)

Learn how to geocache at the library! Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. The only necessities are a GPS device or a GPS-enabled mobile phone so that you can navigate to the cache! We will get outdoors and find the geocache near the library! The City of Parkland Geocache Challenge will begin on June 13 with this Geocaching class and end on August 13. All families who complete the challenge will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a handheld GPS. Get outdoors and geocache! This challenge is for Parkland residents only.Register online

Jurassic Parts: Ice Age Rampage (age 7 and up)

Jurassic Parts will teach children about the animals that roamed Florida long ago and why these animals are no longer found. Children will be able to see and touch a wide selection of genuine and replica fossils of animals such as Saber Cats, Mastodons and Mammoths and other animals.Register online

Do you love fire trucks? Come to the Parkland Library for a fun filled afternoon of fire truck stories and songs. Meet a real firefighter from the Coral Springs Fire Department and explore a real fire truck too. Parkland Library card required to register.Register online
