Overview
Mark Weissman has served as a City Commissioner since November 2006, Vice Mayor from November 2008 to November 2009, Deputy Vice Mayor from November 2010 to November 2011 and Vice Mayor since November 2011. Mark also served as a City Commissioner from January 1996 to September 2000. 

Mark Weissman was born in New York and moved to Florida in 1971. He has lived in northwest Broward County since 1973 and moved to the City of Parkland in 1991. Mark is the proud father of six children, all educated in the Broward County Public School system. He has one daughter at Stoneman Douglas High School and one daughter at Westglades Middle School. Mark Weissman has one son who was married in 2009 and is practicing law with his wife in Orlando, FL.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in law.  He has a daughter that works for the Broward County Convention Center who graduated from the University of Central Florida.  Mark also has one daughter who is attending the University of Central Florida, who will graduate in 2012 and one daughter who is attending Florida Atlantic University.

Mark is the owner of the Savino-Weissman Funeral Home and Cremation Services located on 441 in Margate. He also served as the first Vice President of the Whittier Oaks Homeowners Association. Mark brought his experience as a business owner and in fiscal management overseeing seven funeral home locations in the tri-county area and 250+ employees to the Parkland City Commission. This experience was particularly valuable in analyzing and passing ten budgets in Parkland.

As City Commissioner, he sponsored numerous city ordinances and worked on issues in the areas of recycling, development guidelines, land acquisition, and development of parks and the municipal complex. As a State representative, he brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money to Parkland. As an integral part of the Legislature’s Fiscal Policy and Resources Committee, Mark helped fashion the State’s $51+ billion budgets during his term.
