Commissioner Mark Weissman (District 4)
Serving as Commissioner since November 2006.

Mark Weissman was born in New York and moved to Florida in 1971. He has lived in northwest Broward County since 1973 and moved to the City of Parkland in 1991. Mark is the proud father of 4 children, all educated in the Broward County Public School system. He is a regular fixture at Riverglades Elementary School functions where his 2 daughters attend and he is a member of their PTA.

He served as the first Vice-President of the Whittier Oaks Homeowners Association. Mark brought his experience as a business owner and in fiscal management overseeing seven locations in the tri-county area and 250+ employees to the Parkland City Commission. This experience was particularly valuable in analyzing and passing 5 budgets in Parkland. As City Commissioner, he sponsored numerous city ordinances and worked on issues in the areas of recycling, development guidelines, land acquisition and development of parks and the municipal complex. As a State Representative, he brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money to Parkland. As an integral part of the Legislature’s Fiscal Policy & Resources Committee, Mark helped fashion the State’s $51+ billion budgets during his term.
