Jared
Moskowitz demonstrated his leadership skills and commitment to integrity
in public affairs even before he graduated from Parkland’s Marjory
Stoneman Douglas High. He was elected Student Government Treasurer in
his senior year. Jared attended George Washington University in Washington,
D.C where, as a political science major with a focus on the formulation
of public policy, he immediately took advantage of all the opportunities
available in the Nation’s Capitol and at the University.
While in Washington,
D.C., Jared was selected to intern for the Young Democrats of America.
Jared left that position when offered the opportunity to work in the
White House Office of the Vice President to assist the advance team
with security issues and staffing events. The position required both
Secret Service and FBI clearance.
Jared also worked
at the Law Office of Steptoe and Johnson for three years assisting in
their international and trade law department as it directly related
to the World Trade Organization. In August of 2003, Jared was appointed
as an Assistant in the Campaign Legal Department of the National Office
of Senator Joseph Lieberman’s Presidential Campaign. Jared’s
primary responsibilities were researching each state’s campaign
laws to make certain that Senator Lieberman complied with all the requirements
necessary to appear on the ballot.
Ultimately, Jared
completed his Washington training and returned home to Parkland entering
Nova Southeastern School of Law. In the summer of 2005 he served as
a Law Clerk to Broward Circuit Court Judge Robert Rosenberg.
Jared understands
the importance of maintaining Parkland’s lifestyle as the city
approaches build out. He believes in a dedication to high ethical standards
in government and a willingness to open a broad-based dialogue throughout
the city. He is committed to expand our athletic facilities for Parkland’s
youth; reach a consensus for controlled growth; relieve traffic congestion;
improve our educational facilities; enhance our preparedness for hurricanes
and other natural disasters; and create a working partnership with BSO
to keep our neighborhoods and streets safe.
