Permits Without Final Inspections

Q: I recently moved into this house and find that there is an “expired permit” or “work without permit” problem at this address. The previous owner must have had some work done and failed to follow up with permitting or with all required inspections. Is this my problem, now?

A: Yes. All construction work which is required to be permitted is the responsibility of the current property owner. Please contact the Building Department to discuss procedures specific to your situation for obtaining a permit and bringing the work into compliance.
